Transformative repair is a recurring theme in my work, and the Japanese art of kintsugi is a part of this. It helps me to explore the deeper meaning of brokenness, mending and healing. It is also a means of sustainability, as it enables me to give vintage or fired pieces that would otherwise be discarded a new life.
